Pump Station Applications
Return to Wastewater Applications
Pump Stations
Sewer pump stations, like manholes, have the same problems of infiltration and chemical corrosion. Typically these structures are
larger and contain pumps, pipes and other equipment to control sewage flow and to pump it towards the wastewater treatment plant
for treatment. Pump station liner installations occur when the structure is empty – free of equipment, liquids and debris. This
can occur prior to placing a new pump station into service or when the pump station is down for replacement of pumps or other
equipment. The following are examples of Poly-Triplex pump station rehabilitation:
| Pump Station Rehabilitation - City of Loveland, CO |
 |
Problem: Boyd Lake Pump Station
The Boyd Lake Pump Station is 6' in diameter and 20' deep and was experiencing severe problems of infiltration. Due to
its proximity at the edge of Lake Boyd, it was virtually impossible for the city to replace the pump station. Several
unsuccessful attempts had been made to stop the infiltration of groundwater, so the city realized that the rehabilitation
method would have to be installed with active infiltration present.
Solution: All pumps and pipes were removed and the structure was pressure cleaned to remove deteriorated concrete.
The structure was prepared for the liner in less than two hours and cured-in-place in less than five hours. The pump station
was then ready for immediate use. There has been no further deterioration and no further infiltration.

| Pump Station Rehabilitation - Town of La Grange, NC |
 |
Problem:
Severe deterioration of the town's sewer system has called for a comprehensive rehabilitation project that included permanent
rehabilitation of 224 manholes, 6 pump stations as well as slip-lining of sewer lines, service lateral replacements, sewer
line replacement and upgrades to lift stations.
Solution: The Town of La Grange contracted with a Poly-Triplex Certified Installer to complete the manhole and pump
station portion of the project. The Poly-Triplex Liner System was used to completely seal off infiltration and provide an
impervious water, chemical and sewer gas resistant liner to stop future deterioration.
